Entrepreneurial Podcasts Worth Paying Attention to in 2017

Entrepreneurial Podcasts Worthy of Your Time

Podcasts are a great means of listening to what you want when you want. I find myself downloading weekly podcast sessions every Sunday/Monday evening, it's helped me expand my knowledge on various topics. Don't get me wrong, such radio stations like CJAD and Virgin are great, although podcasts provide the opportunity to listen to specific content. The control is now in my hands, tailoring my radio station to my forever changing needs.

Thinking that this would be a casual activity during downtime I experimented with various podcast themes and hosts. "Casual activity" ... I wish... I'm addicted! Consider this a warning :).

So with no delay, below is a list of a few podcasts that really got me hooked, and started on the journey of storytelling. Each podcast is very different from the next, as a result the order has no real importance.

Quick side note: If your worried about data, which is a common concern these days, simply download the sessions your interested in on a weekly basis while on wifi, and listen to them on the go data free... Soundcloud, Castbox, Apple's iTunes and many more apps allow the download option on wifi. Personally I use the Castbox app for all my podcast needs.

Gary Vaynerchuk

Nobody sells Gary Vaynerchuk better than GaryVee himself. Visit his website and you'll find a wide variety of ways to watch, listen or read about his adventures. As an immigrant from Belarus, raised in New Jersey, join him on his passionate journey to buying the New York Jets. The GaryVee experience is a story in itself, he may sound like a life coach at times, although his advice is solid and hits home for many listeners. Routinely he has various guests sharing their story with the audience, and many times gets the audience involved by having them call or message in questions.

How do you get started? There are so many ways to interact with Gary's content. There is no one place as he uses various marketing mediums and tailors the content to that specific medium (fyi - everyone should be doing this).

The Joe Rogan Experience

The Joe Rogan experience podcast is a long form conversation hosted by comedian, UFC color commentator, and actor Joe Rogan with friends and guests that have included comedians, actors, musicians, authors, artists, and more. Compared to GaryVee, where you have a common theme among many posts, with Joe Rogan the experience is different with every guest. Whether you like listening to Neil Degrasse Tyson (American astrophysicist) discussing science related topics, or the latest MMA fighter highlighting his challenges working in the cage, each episode is unique.

NPR: How I Built This

How I Built This is a podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built. Each episode is a narrative journey marked by triumphs, failures, serendipity and insight — told by the founders of some of the world's best known companies and brands (examples: Kate Spade, Lyft, Instagram, L.A. Reid and more). This podcast is hosted by Guy Raz, who does a great job digging deep and getting to the roots of a story within 30-45 minutes. This is truly becoming one of my favorite podcasts, and I'm glad to say that I have gotten many of my friends, family and coworkers hooked on it.
